Circulation Policy

  • K-1 students:  1 book at a time

  • 2nd-5th grade students:  2 books at a time

All books are due 2 weeks from the date of check-out.  Students can bring books to the media center to be renewed.  Students who have overdue books are not permitted to check out additional materials until their books are returned or renewed.

We do not assess fines for late books.  However, we do ask that families pay for any lost or damaged materials.  Feel free to contact Mrs. Bock with any questions (sbock@wcpss.net).

Book Care

Follow these book care tips to keep library materials in good condition:

  • Always carry your library books in a bookbag to protect them from weather.  We recommend carrying them in a plastic grocery bag inside the bookbag to protect them from accidental spills by water bottles and lunches.  Library books must stay dry at all times.

  • Keep books in a safe location at home.  Choose a table, shelf, or other area to consistently keep library books so that you will know right where they are.  Choose a spot where books will be protected from pets and younger siblings.

  • Use a bookmark!  If you need one, ask for one in the library!

  • If you damage a book, return it to us immediately.  We can often repair it and make it good as new!

Home / Media Center

Welcome to the Wildwood Forest Elementary School    Media Center!

Media Coordinator:  Susan Bock

Media Assistant:  Lisa Kerrigan

Wildwood Forest's Media Center is open from 8:00AM-4:00PM Monday-Friday.

Students attend a media/technology class on a fixed schedule (every two weeks).  Additionally, students are encouraged to visit the library any time during the school day with a pass from a teacher.  We also welcome visits from parents and allow them to check out books as well!  Come on in and visit us!

**Parents, please encourage your child to use these resources when working on school projects.  In most cases, they are safer and more effective for elementary school students than using Google or Yahoo!**

Get Involved with the School Library!

Volunteer!

We welcome parent and community volunteers.  There are always things to do in the library:  shelving books, helping with displays, etc.  Once you've registered as a volunteer, feel free to stop in and help out!

Volunteers are also needed for our annual book fair in October each year.  Check back soon for more details!

Book Donations

We gladly accept donations of books.  Books should be gently used and free of tears, stains, or markings.  Mrs. Bock will gladly provide a "wish list" of new books we'd love to add to our collection.  If donated books do not meet the needs of the library collection, they will be offered to teachers for their classroom libraries.
